SCULPTING
Journey Through Doors

A multiples piece: Journey Through Doors
This sculpture captures the intricacy of a journey through the overlapping, branching, and entangled paths we navigate. The suspended white doors represent the choices, opportunities, and new beginnings that shape our lives. This sculpture also alludes to the debate of fate versus free will—do we truly choose our path, or is it predetermined?
The floating white doors hung in the air represents all the doors you will walk through, all the decisions you will make, all the opportunities that awaits, the future. Each one drawing the viewer's imagination to visualize what lies behind something undefined.
Beneath them, a single red door stands at the center of the piece. Its stark contrast: platformed and grounded, represents the present.
Beyond this red door, shadows stretch across the space—not cast by the past, but by the future. This inversion suggests an unsettling possibility: fate has already been decided. The white doors, seemingly representing boundless choice, may instead be an illusion of free will.
The question still lingers—are these doors a representation of the past or the future? Then, a final detail emerges: a white door pierced through its center, revealing a red color within—the same red as the grounded door.
This rupture becomes a clue, a second piece of evidence that perhaps all choices lead to the same outcome. No matter which door you walk through, the inside remains unchanged.
Are we truly making decisions, or are we merely walking paths already set before us?
